What we do

Livingstone Nepal works for Community Transformation. We work for poor and marginalized communities of Nepal. We design and implement project following the needs of communities.

EDUCATION

 Livingstone Nepal works in Education sector. We see quality education is the foundation of a success and key to eradicate poverty. We work toward child friendly education for Primary and Secondary school students. We build the capacity of school administrators. We train teachers and School Management Committee members. We conduct parental education for better parenting and education their children. We provide technical support to plan school development. We conduct workshops on education related needs and challenges.

Child Sponsorship for poor children is another area of education project. We provide family-based sponsorship to the poor and marginalized children. It includes financial and materials support. It also includes empowering the sponsored families and their communities.

Vocational Trainings, career counseling and guiding youths for their further study and possible career development are part of Education Programme. We see vocational trainings are significant for youths to engage them in income generating activities.

COMMUNINTY TRANSFORMAITON

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in South Asia. It has more than 25 percent of population still living under extreme poverty. Subsistence based livelihood, unemployment, and lack of skills to generate income are some of bottleneck in Nepal.

Livingstone Nepal aims to contribute to reduce poverty in the nation. We have been working in Community Transformation through CHE approach, DBS and Wholistic Approach. We formed Community Groups. We are training them and mobilize them for their development. We provide financial and technical support to set up micro-enterprises. We developed a model like Animal Banking, organic farming, and seed bank in our working communities.

RELEIF RESPONSE

Nepal is a disaster-prone country. It has landslide, flash flood and cold wave re-occurring disaster every year. Nepal is also earthquake prone area. It has already faced major earthquake in 2015 and 2023. We have been actively responding to disaster affected families with food and non-food items.

WATER AND SANITATION

Despite of rich water resources in Nepal, majority of population are still deprived of safe water in Nepal. Chure is a small dry hill area of Nepal which has decreasing water resources due to deforestation. Livingstone Nepal has been working in Chure area of Madhesh Province for Drinking Water Improvement. We have successfully collaborated with local communities and Municipality Offices for Living Water Project in the Province. The Living Water Project provides a package of water improvement, access to water installing pipelines and constructing taps and educating families on Health, Hygiene and Sanitation.

CROSS-CUTTING THEMES

Livingstone Nepal has gender, people with special needs, culture and peace building are cross-cutting themes of all programs.
